Forward facing car seats

So we're at the point where we need to get new forward facing car seats for Charlotte and Thomas but it's totally overwhelming.

Tell me about your car seat... make, model, cost, good things about it, bad things about it....

Thank you!

Britax 1st class si

http://www.britax.co.uk/index.php?op...id=7&Itemid=31

Very good, reclines so that they can sleep comfortably. i think we paid about £80 for ours i can't quite remeber - supposed to do till they are 4 but ewan has out grown his at 2.5!!

We now have

http://www.britax.co.uk/index.php?op...id=8&Itemid=31

Very good and comfortable can recline or sit up. and should last untill they 6+ has harness untill they are 18kg then they go on to the seat belt.

Covers are removable. for cleaning.

I have the same as Hypnorm-Britax Si, Rebecca was 2 in February and has grown out it too-so no way does it last til they are 4-it doesnt matter how far legs dangle down its if their head is over the top of the seat.

I quite fancy a Maxi Cosi Priorifix expensive but good write up's.

Dont envy you Helen having to fork out for two at the same time! Very pricey!!xx

Basically the same as the britax Si, but if you have a big baby it will not last till they are 4.
Ewan is now 20 kg at 2.6yrs and if he had winter clothes on it was too tight.

We're in Canada, so I don't know if this will help...

We got the Eddie Bauer 3 in 1 Deluxe seat (from Sears). It can be used with a newborn, infant and until about 4. There's the same strap to adjust the harness, but the best thing is... you never need to rethread the shoulder straps like most. It comes with red clips at the top that lower or raise the straps. It saves so much time and hassle!!! We love that seat. We got 1 for each car! We paid roughly $230 Canadian but it's well worth it. You can remove the fabric to machine-wash it, after kiddo's used the snack cup... which will be handy with toddlers! There's also the nifty little arm rests for olders kids.

We've got the Maxi cosi Tobi in my car (non isofix) and in DH's car we've got a Britax Asia or something (Isofix). Both seem good and comfortable although you can see immediately that she'll outgrown the Britax first. THe Maxi Cosi has a higher seat back so more room for growth and a removeable head support.

We have that one too, it's excellent.. good reviews too I think.

I made a thread not so long ago about car seats: Anyone used this car seat?

Look at BlueSmartie's reply mainly.

Hope that helps

I had this one, and it lasted both boys.... I took it to Spain with me, as it could go on the plane seat for my toddler, and because I didn't think I would need it again, I left it with my Dad in Spain, who promptly sold it at the bootsale ( I told him he could).....

Then discovered I was pregnant !!! sods bloody law.... so I need to buy a new one too....

I've found this, and am definetely getting one when I can afford it.... It lasts from birth, rotates 360, and this means you can turn it to face the car door too, so it's easier getting them in and out The price isn't bad, considering how long it lasts....

It's a Renolux 360... ranges form £99 upto £170... depending where you get it from... they seem to be out of stock nearly everywhere
