Baby skull question

Hi everyone, I know, I haven't been on here since December, but I'm back now, I missed this place.

Anyway, I have a question, look at this picture:

Can you see the dark blue line? That is actually where the bits of his skull come together (you know how baby skulls are in parts so they can squeeze out into this world and make room for a growing brain).

Is that normal? I mean, do your babies have them so visible? It seems pretty big to me, and it's only on his left side. He has his 2 month check up with his doctor on Monday, so I'll ask then, but I thought I'd ask you as well.

Magnus Vikingur is 8 weeks old. And a total cutie

Here he is sporting quite the double chin, guess he likes his breast milk

Hmmm... I dunno but it looks like a vein to me. Could it be that?

Yes, that's what I thought as well, but if you touch it, it's actually like a little groove.

my daughter is 2 weeks old and she has a simular thing but it doesnt look blue but she has a groove across the exact same part as your boy has, he is still young and it will take time for the skull to form together completely

Hi Ishtar

My little boy also has a similar thing but it's more visible on his right side of his head and there is also a bit of a ridge as well. I'm sure it's totally normal

My son is 6 months and has the exact same thing. It's on one side, too and when he cries real hard the vein actually swells and you can see it very clearly. I was worried so I asked the doctor and he said it's perfectly normal. But I must admit I don't like touching it so much. Also, I notice that when I touch my own head right above my ear I feel a small groove. I guess I must have had it too as a newborn! And it turned out just fine!!!
