Infant to Toddler Car Seats

So far all I've been able to find are infant seats here at home which are for newborns only through to 22lbs; which means I would have to buy another car seat by the time my lil one is one year old or so.

I really wanted to buy an "Infant to Toddler" car seat because you can use them from newborn through to the toddler stages (5lbs-60lbs) which would save me from having to buy a car seat twice.

Any ideas ladies...any opinions on the "Infant-Toddler" car seats?

hi- bit late but- yes i know of the newborn to toddler carseats, they tend to be quite bulky and face rearwards same as a baby seat then outwards to toddler age. they tend to say up to 4 years of age or so but i have found by 3 mine are too big and needed the booster with a back and 5 point harness. you can get them from argos or mothercare, however as with any carseat i would advise that you try in in ur car and see if it suits ur need. they are no easy to get in and out all the time . hope this helps.x

This is a good example,
Advantages:
Comfy
Safe and secure
Do not have to keep restrapping in
long lasting

Disadvantages:
Bulky
Harder to get in and out if using another car
baby cannot sit in it out of car at all
(not that this is advisable 4 long periods!)
you will often need a booster type with back later anyway!

as I said before they are a good option depending on your needs, i personally preferred the graco and mamas and paps ones with the bases as i found them easier and although they only lasted 9- 12 months, i then bought a forward facing seat with integral straps such as http://www.mothercare.com/gp/product...53031&mcb=core
I found this lasts all through after that, however some people dont like the fact that it does not lie back etc...

Try a few out in your car and see how you feel with them, mothercare do this and most good retailer should also be willing to do this. xx
