lump behind ear and potty training

sorry for selfish posting and not replying hardly ever too posts and will get new pics soon I promise. I'm picking some new ones up from Dawson's stranger photographer from Summer's second birthday on wednesday and lots on camera when find lead.

Right Summer turned 2 3 weeks ago on the 4th sept. the weekend before her birthday she had a nasty sickness bug and was off food for a few days. this lasted all weekend on sept 3rd she was better but then on her birthday 4th she woke up with a full blown cold and heavy eyed and bit of cough but got happier as day went on. anyway I didn't take her too docs but she have had this on off cold and cough since then but have been happy and eating ok since but last few days her cough sounds rattley her cold is worse. she woke up 5am this morning which is very rare. Summer and Jack are both having a nap now which never happens as 9 times out of 10 she never naps.

anyway she is off her food now and last night i noticed a lump behind her right ear. it's quite big and hard and I don't think she have bumped herself anywhere. the lump is in an awkward place too bump it. me worried it could be cancer or anything.
no matter how much sleep she has she always looks tired and in her own world. going too make a doc appoint for afternoon. just wondering if you had any ideas.
what age did you start potty training? Summer will sit on there for ages but don't do nothing and will ask for a nappy if she wants a wee. she tells me when she is having a poo or wee but refuses too do anything if I take her nappy off and sit her on it. gotta be honest it's not alot i do sit her on it. I'm fed of family asking is she potty trained yet. not a clue where too start really

anway let u know what doc says. Jack is awake and hungry Summer still sleeping. weaning going fab with Jack he is a much better eater then what Summer ever was and scares me at the amount he can eat.
thanks anwayX

Hmm im not sure about the lump, if its somethings that come up recently then your doing the right thing taking her to the docs. Might just be because she has a cold/virus and her lymph nodes are swollen due to infection.
Anyway hope she is ok, let us know how you get on at the docs!

Potty training is going crap! he knows what its for and he has done a wee in it once but thats about it. Like summer, he will sit on it for ages but not do anything! yesterday he pooed on the kitchen floor!! nice!
Im not going to push him though, he'll do it when hes ready, a lot of people ive spoken to said they didnt start potty training until age 2 and a half.

Not sure about what the lump could be, hopefully nothing serious. How did you get on at the doctors with her?
As for potty training I think that she'll do it when she's ready, so don't fret too much as she's still young
Hope you're all well

spot on girls wish i'd asked sooner as been besides myself with worry. It is occipital lymph node. although gotta keep an eye on it that it don't get bigger or red. the doctor had quite a fight on her hands too look at Summer. she literally screamed down the surgery. she has a ear infection and chest infection which may explain lymph node. call me thick but I didn't even think of lymph node. She has amoxocillin antibiotics now. another question it's a difficult task getting her too take anti-b's. literally takes me and Chris too pin her down and she gets so upset and spits some back. in the past i've put it in a bottle with tiny amount of juice but does this take the effect off it? I've tried offering off the spoon and pretending too give her dolly medicine first but she won't ahve none of it and seals her mouth shut. kids eh. anyway hopefully she'll get back too her cheeky self very soon.

as for the potty training like you said she'll do it when ready. nice too know how other toddlers are doing. I get a little paranoid at soft play when mothers are talking about their 20 month old doing loads wees on potty. even the health visitor have been nagging about this potty training stuff althouhg she had her 2 year check up and she is doing far more then she should be doing for her age. knows all her colours, great with numbers, animals etc.. putting words together great and I can have a full blown conversation with her these days. although we are waiting an apointment over her eyes as one is a little bit smaller then the other and dfferent colour eyelashes one blonde and one dark. also appointment over her bum. she was born with 2 bum holes well one was closed I was told it was an anal sinus and it would heal but it haven't although hv don't think anything too worry but wouldn't hurt getting a second opinion/ well other then all this she is perfect LOL X
thanks girls hope all ok

Ah ignore the pushy mums. I know someone who's child was potty trained at 8 months - though what the point of that was no idea as by that age Seren was only just crawling so I would have had to carry her to potty etc, and am far too lazy for that. If they start just turn round and say that you were going to start her potty training but at the momnent her schedule is too full with learning Russian literary clasics and speaking Manderin.

Looking forward to seeing photos of your two

Hi Kayleigh hope Summer is feeling a bit better now. Bless her, a brave girl.

With Rebecca she is awkward with medicine so we have a syringe-minus the needle ofcourse lol, and just open her mouth and fire it in, we got asked for it when we pick up her prescription, works a treat-cruel to be kind and all that!

Hope you are all well and look forwward to seeing pics of ur 2 cherubs xx

LOL Beanie thanks
hope you Seren and pregnancy are all going ok. can't believe how many of you are all pregnant again.

Thanks KX aw nearly due bet your excited. do you know the sex?
yeah we have syringe minus the needle but even with that it's a fight on our hands. true have too be cruel too be kind. I hate doing it too her but it is for her own good. Managed too get her too swallow most of her doses today. she is stronger then me though. we good though apart from Summer ill. Jack bit snotty today do hoping he don't come down with it. Honestly find it hard going too the toilet one of them always wants something. hard work but can't wait for this time next year and Jack toddling.

hope you Rebecca and preg going ok? any signs of baby arriving soon. didn't you end up with a c-sec on Rebecca? i'm sure it was you sorry if got it wrong. if so good luck with vbac

def get pics up of them both X

Ella is exactly the same with her potty, she knows what it is for she sometimes even asks for it and will happily sit on it, she lets me know if she is wet or needs a poo, yet she still wont do anything on the potty. I think it feels a bit unsecure for them at first they are used to a nappy being there so it must feel very strange, once they get over that it will happen, but she is certainly not behind and she will do it when she is ready so dont worry about it yet. let us know how you get on, looking forward to pictures xxx
