my friends have a little girl called lola - i do love it...& i find all my girlf's love it too.....BUT all the boys sing "lola, she was a showgirl" to her daddy all the time poor child!! lol xx

I love the name Lola but then when I was reading a name book I noticed it is one of the shortenings for the name Lolita (which happens to be one of my favourite novels) and realised I wouldn't want to give her a name that reminded me of 'the little Lolita', so I went off it.

HOWEVER, as a stand-alone name it is very very pretty and if you like it I'd use it. Lovely name.

Where I work there's a little girl called Lola, I think it's a proper cute name.

Sadly it reminds me of the kinks song, and a song about a girl is fine and all but that song is about a transvestite so I dunno...
