Yes, this is the way i would want it pronounced -

"Key - Are - Uh"

But it definitely seems there are quite a few different ways to say it... so, i probably wouldn't choose this name

Thanks, girls!

I know a Chiara and here in Italy it is def pronounced Kee-ar-a.

You could always spell it Kiara or Kyara - then there is no confusion.

I have a wonderful italian friend who when we first met made me repeat her name several times until I got it right!
She pronounces it Ke-yarr-uh with a bit more emphasis on the yar. But then she has a very italian accent, we mostly just say Key-ar-uh. I love it, it's such a pretty, girly name.

I've never heard it before - it is a beautiful name.
I definitely would have said Key-are-uh (even before I read your next post!!).

My name is forever being mispronounced (and misspelled) too, so I know what you mean. If it's even a little doubtful I probably wouldn't go for it.

Why not just spell it in a way that it cannot be pronounced wrong?

I would say Key-arr-ah, but some might say Kee-rah because of the actress Keira Knightley. People tend to be lazy. My full name is Carolyn and I absolutely hate it when people can't be bothered to either listen or remember and call me Caroline, it really makes my blood boil!
