Why do the fathers never agree with us on names?!

Hello,
well the other day, my boyfriend and i were talking about possible baby names, maybe too early, but we're getting really excited!!
And every single name i said, he was like no wayyy!! and i was the same about the one's he said.. i don't think we're ever going to agree... and then same problem with surnamee :/
anyone else have this situation? how do i get round it?
at least we 100% agree on middle names, because if it's a girl it has my mother's first name and if it's a boy it has my brothers.

We started talking about names in august and only now do we have one or two names we both agree on, keep trying!!

Most of the time when he suggests a name, I'm like: "... It's kind of nice but I can't imagine calling my child like this..." Surname wise it's not so difficult: I hate my surname and his is ok. One day we'll get married and then we will all have the same surname.

Hubby and I are like that...everything I like he hates...but then one day he actually liked 2 names! (one is a boy's name and one a girl). So, I think we have a start lol

My husband and I have the same taste in a lot of things. Turned out we had nearly the same taste in names as well.

I know what you mean, He kept on coming away with names that i just cannot stand and vice versa its taken us 6 months to come to a few we both like. Rosalie and scarlett being the main 2 and really it came down to trying to get him to see my way of thinking rather than me compromising

we agreed right from the start on a girl's name, poppy is both our faves. as for boys though... my oh didnt like ANY i suggested! i had my heart totally set on miles but he HATED it!! just as well we are having a girl...

Lol my Dh is really annoying he will agree 100% on a name then talk to people at work and come home and deny he ever liked the name lol! rahh! xxx

My DH hated all the names I came up with, then he made his own list and I actually really liked a couple of the girls names and one of the boys names....

and Edward he became

Me and my OH have found our girls name, Evelyn, but I swear he vitos every single boys name I suggest! Boo!
