| Georgia? What does everyone think of Georgia? I really like it, it's not my first choice but it's the only name me & hubby agree on after going through literally hundreds!
My only worry: I hate the thought of the nickname George! Hate it, hate it, hate it. Do you think she would end up a George? How else could it be nicknamed? (I didn't have a nickname so I have a thing about nicknames now!) | | | | Status: Online

| Georgia is lovely!!
I think if you enfore the fact that she is Georgia and not George she will be called Georgia. I don't think George is a nickname that she will be given anyway as it can be seen as quite "offensive" iyswim? It's like calling her a boy.
But yeah, Georgia is lovely, so pretty! | | | | Status: Offline

| I quite like it. I think if you constantly refer to her as Georgia and correct people who call her otherwise they'll get the hint. Likewise, if your daughter does the same thing when she's older...
I really like the name Georgina, too, which is close. There's always the option of her nickname being Gina, that way as well. | | | | Status: Online

| Thanks ladies, food for thought here... maybe I'll just have to be firm that she's a Georgia. I wish I liked Georgina as Gina is lovely, I don't know why but I just don't love it the same way. | | | | Status: Online

| I think Georgia is a lovely name but if your hearts not in it (which i don't think it is) i would get the books out and have another long look!! Afterall your child is stuck with the name for her whole life and you can't change your mind when/if people start calling her George!!

| I think Georgia is a lovely name, but I think however much you and your family call her Georgia, she may still get George attached to her at school and by other kids. So it depends on whether you can deal with hearing that. My OH is called Johnny, but his parents, sister etc all call him Jonathan and don't like the name Johnny. All of his friends and me call him a name they don't like! | | | | Status: Online

| I think Georgia is a beautiful name but really don't like it shortened to Georgie, it's just not the same! But I think if you (and her when she's older) correct people if they call her George or Georgie then she will always be Georgia. | | | | Status: Offline
