is it okay to just settle for a name?

i like the name we've 90% decided on, but . . i'm not overly in love with it, do u think it's ok to just stick with a name you don't love, settle for it, or to keep looking for one you really really love. we have searched but we could search more... or perhaps this name will grow on us? x

so has anyone "settled" for a name x

Well we have four names for this l/o, and there are really only 2 of them that i absolutely love, i do like the other 2, just not as much. We are going to wait til she arrives to decide which one to have, and im hoping that one of the names just suits her and I feel that I couldnt call her anything else iykwim

With my son we had a choice of 3 names and I let DH choose one of those, he chose my least favourite of the 3, but tbh the name suits my son so much and when I think of the other names they just so wouldnt suit him

. Good luck hun, theres no harm in keeping looking for 'the name'. xx

I'd keep searching!!!! What if it doesn't grow on you and your left with it. I say get the baby name books out!!!

Im in the exact same position I just don't seem to be 100% on any name just 80-95% where as OH is in love with it

Definately keep searching!! I had many sleepless nights laying in bed agonizing over names when i was preggo with my son! I wouldn't settle for a name you don't love! But honestly... i couldn't find any name that i LOVED... so i gave my son a name i really liked. Once that name is associated with your baby whom you love so much, you'll love the name as well! I fell in love with my son's name AFTER i gave it to him!

id keep looking. Imagine if you gave the baby your "settled on" name registered it etc then a few weeks later heard a name and though omg i love that!! you might regret not searching like a women possesed beforehand

Liking the name 90% is almost loving it anyways. As long as you dont hate the name. It will grow on you, you'll see.Since your husband chose the first name maybe you can hunt around for the middle name if you are going to use one.Perhaps he will only like the middle name 90% too! LOL!
