I quite like it. At the end of the day names like archie and alfie were once regarded as older mans names and are now mega popular. If its a family name or has a special meaning for you then thats a good enough reason to pick it in my opinion. But then I am a sentimentalist!

I think it's a great name! If you like, then go for it!

I'm also surprised people don't like it; maybe they're just bored with it from knowing too many Brian's growing up, in our age bracket. I wouldn't use it myself because I dated a boy named Brian growing up. But I think it's a solid, confident, masculine, sporty type of name which ages well.

In the States its a perfectly normal accepted name. If you guys like it, go for it! I love simple names, spelled correctly, so it sounds good to me!

It's a good, solid name - just not very fashionable right now, so it will be unique without sounding crazy. Go for it, if you like it.
