I prefer something a bit more unusual. It means there aren't going to be a load of kids at school with the same name as you. I have friends and colleagues who have the same name and they just get the first letter of their surname bunged on the end of their name so that everyone knows who they're talking about...not for me i'm afraid.

I like names that can be traditional whilst being unique at the same time.

I voted traditional but interesting to see an almost 50/50 divide. Good poll (I love polls)

Traditional for me, I think if a name is too unusual it may sound cute as a baby but when they are in school they are more likely to get bullied and as a grown up it may not be appropriate (what if little "Apricot" wants to be a serious lawyer).

I'd say both. I have an Emily Anne which I'd say was traditional and a Hebe Ellan which is more unusual. This one will be Sidney Richard David (traditional) or Florrie Love (unusual)

My Aunt is called Florie, it's quite traditional but unusual as it's not used much anymore.

I prefer traditional names generally, but then I hear the occasional more unique one that I love as well.
