Isabelle ?

River
I prefer River but OH likes Isabelle.

I keep hearing people calling their kids Isabelle and worry its one of those really popular names

There are 4 Isabelles in my sons nursery class! I really like River, its unusual enough for her to be an individual yet not too 'far out'.. xx

I concur that Isabelle is common and I really like River. I just always think of it as a boys name like River Phoenix, the actor. But many names crossover to girls well!

Isabelle is popular but its very pretty. I tend to think of River more as a male name, although as a nature name its technically unisex.
You might find on seeing her name people might be expecting your little girl River to be a little boy before they meet her. Along similar lines does Brooke appeal? Its more unusual than Isabelle and has a pretty nature feel like River with the advantage of being a definate girl name.

Isabelle is becoming common, but not that much (I don't think it's top 10) River I do like but for a boy. It sounds masculine to me

Brooke is a very cute name...a good alternative.
