one having a middle name and the other not?

i'm not sure whether to give baby a middle name. but katie's got one, so i was thinking it wouldnt really be fair! my mum said the same!

just wondering everyone's thoughts on it, if one baby's got a middle name, should the rest have them too??

Hmmm not necessarily. Personally, I think I would, just because I think it would sound a bit better. If it didn't 'work' though, I'd still feel fine about dropping it.

My husband doesn't have a middle name, his older brother has 1 and his younger sister has 2.
He doesn't mind but says he always gets asked for it for forms etc and would prefer our kids to have 1.

Ive got twin sisters and one of them has a middle name and the other one doesn't.(I think my parents had had enough of trying to think of names that they were just happy they'd managed to decide on atleast one name for each of them) xxxxxx

I always think middle names are such a good thing to fall back on if the child decides they dislike their first name. My mother has been called by her middle name since about the age of 15 when she realised how much she hated the first, it avoids having to face a total name change. Except if they end up hating both, obviously

Personally I love having a middle name, although I do like my first, but it gives another dimension to it with the extra meanign and everything

I always liked my middle name Leigh when I was younger until I got married, now my name is Kelly Leigh Lee!!!

I think if your first child has a middle name then it would be nice to give your next one a middle name. My dad was one of six, and was the only one who didnt have a middle name and he always said that he would have like to have had one....

Three of my four children have middle names, Honey doesnt and was never going to have one. If I have another boy he probably wont have a middle name as I cant find a middle name that goes with the name we love.

My two brothers and two sisters have middle names, I dont, it has never bothered me.

I was always jealous of my brother... he doesn't have one, and I do and I don't like it. No matter how many places I write just my first one down, official forms, bank accounts etc., my middle name always crops up somehow!! Hate it!

Having said that... thinking if it's a girl to go with one name... it's quite long so could be shortened and wouldn't go with a second name, only if one syllable. If it's a boy, the chosen name is one syllable, so is surname, so thinking a middle name would sound good with it!!

I'm pregnant, I'm allowed to be confused / confusing!
