Useless doctors/Midwifes/Nursery Nurses

Long story short Jaden is 9 1/2 months old and still refusing to eat solids of any sort. Not sleeping through and really clingy. I have been in touch will all the people mentioned above and basically been told

he should be on stage 2 foods so only feed him them he wont starve himself

dont give him more than 13oz of milk no matter how much he cries

dont give him milk during the night he is old enough to sleep through

As long as he isnt loosing too much weight they wont help apart from the above crap advice. I know it probably is good advice but i dont want to leave him screaming for milk/food(stage 1) for hours in my book is cruel.

As a first time mum i feel utterly useless and like im hitting my head against a brick wall. I want to do whats best for my son but feel cuel.

if he's not eating solids, he's not ready to. to me it is cruel to not feed him when he is hungry. he sounds like a more "high needs" baby and he shouldn't be treated like "every other baby" because each baby is different. i think you should do what YOU think needs to happen. not what they think. YOU. your baby, your gut.
here is some info about "high needs" babies, perhaps your baby is kind of like these babies: http://www.askdrsears.com/html/5/T050400.asp

Aaron didn't eat any solids until 10 months. I just let him breastfeed as much as he needed (he was still waking every 2 hours at night), and offered him finger foods regularly but without any pressure.

He will eat when he's ready, in the meantime I'd ignore their rubbish advice and offer him whatever he wants.

hi hunnny, that is really crappy advice you have been given, only 13 oz of milk WTF i thought they still had to have a min of between 18-21 at that age still!!!
my little girl wasnt keen on lumpy food at first, (she would still prefer a puree if i gave it too her aswell lol) have you tried mashed foods yet rather than lumpy, to get your little man used to a diff texture rather than lumps? i found my little girl would tolerate lumps more in foods she really liked aswell like mashed bananna.
you could also try giving a spoon of puree then a spoon of lumps and keep alternating, (although from my exp of working in a nursery some babies to get wise to this lol)
like the others say he will have lumps when he is ready, despite the crappy advic eyou have been given be patient, juts keep trying different foods and textures and he will get used to it eventually, i dont think you need to force him like they suggested though x x x

I agree that the advice you have been given is crappy.

I would just offer him some of your food whenever you eat and give him as much milk as he wants. At his age I personally wouldn't push lumpy puree / spoonfeeding.
