Few questions

LOL it seems all i talk about these days is poo, wee and sick lol!!

Well today my OH took a step back and didnt help out as much as he has been, his back at work tomorrow so we thought we should do it like a day as if he was at work... so i have had Oliver and done everything for him today... Including having to feed and change him in town because i timed it abit wrong. And now it is daddy and Oliver time as this is the time he would be home from work tomorrow.

Well so my questions are... Oliver seems to be doing ALOT of wet nappies... I am quessing that its a good sign? Midwifes are always asking if he is weeing?

He has done 2 dirty nappies today which have come out the side of the nappies... i think that is a case of silly mummy not putting the nappies on right. We are using pampers and im just wondering if anyone has any tips?

Also he tends to get hiccups in the evening... and im wondering if there is anything i can do to help him? The HCA at the hospital said that they bother me more than they bother him...?

Sorry for all the questions... i feel like i have really bonded with him today by doing everything

My LO has hiccups every day and has had since the third trimester it doesn't bother them, don't worry.

Try a few different makes of nappy to find the best one for you - check the elastic round the legs is tight enough.

Plenty of wet nappies are all good.

We tried huggies and the wee came out I think its going to be a job to find the right ones.

When you put the nappy on, first make sure you've done it tight enough - the tabs should meet, or possibly even overlap in the middle. When you've finished putting the nappy on, slide a finger underneath it on each side - you'll find that there are two elasticated bits (this is what's meant to keep the poo in), pull them both out so they separate and cover more of his bum.

If you have any problems with wee leaking, make sure his willy is pointing down inside the nappy, although being too loose can also cause that.

As soon as he reaches the weight for a size 2 nappy, you could try switching as they may fit a bit better. I had trouble with the size 1's and I'm still not sure if it was me or the nappies!

It's normal to have a lot of wet nappies. When he gets a little older you won't need to change him quite as frequently for weey ones, so you'll have fewer but fuller nappies.

With regard the hiccups, don't worry as they don't do any harm - it's just a bit annoying. Dylan used to get them a lot when he was very little, and it was mostly when a burp had taken him by surprise. They soon grow out of it though.

So far we have only tried huggies and tesco own. Kacey is 2 weeks old. tescos own leaked but huggies we have found really good. Guess we all have different experinces. Kacey hiccups once a day and had lots of dirt nappies and wet ones.
