when do babies stop being so cranky?!

When Leah is in a happy mood she is amazing - gives me the biggest smiles and giggles and will happily lay on her play mat or something cooing away to herself. but these moment never seem to last for long and most of the time she just seems so cranky! Today she has been eating loads - every 2 hours and taking around 6 ozs each time. so of course she keeps screaming with hunger. then she hasn't slept most of the day so is now extremely cranky and overtired. do you think it is just a phase? or something i am doing wrong?

yeah i think she does suffer with quite bad wind - we are trying verious things which seem to help to an extent but she still suffers bless her. i guess my happy baby will be back again when the joys of wind ease up, whenever that is!

Bun was cranky most of the day until just under 4 months. Things changed for us about 2 weeks ago actually! When other babies were playing with toys, Bun would just be fussing - so I was spending all day trying to calm him. So depressing! Some things helped a bit - getting him sleeping better at night, napping, etc But in the end I think the real thing was time. It will get better - I always hear about the magic 3-month mark. For us it took a few weeks longer, but he is finally enjoying life!

xx

Could it be a growth spurt?

Ella has days like that though when she's just really unsettled and cries a lot, like the pp said we have bad days too.

Abigail is cranky as anything when she is going through a growth spurt. She also does a very good line in looking unimpressed. It's quite funn sometimes when I take her to music class, some ofthe other babies are laughing and cooing away and she sits there with a look of thunder lol!

With relation to wind, I found that everything got SO much better at the 4 month mark - he started being able to burp properly, his sleep got much much better, and generally an all round happier baby. The 'magic' 3 month mark came and went for us - there had been some improvements but things were still not great, but 4 months really has been a big change.

Yup, totally agree. So many things fell into place at four months esp on the wind front Hang in there, it does get better xx
