That's awful, made me shiver...

I guess as long as you follow the 'guidelines' as best you can you really have to try to put it out your mind and enjoy your LO. I believe that if it's going to happen it will happen...

Being a parent is such bloody hard work!!

It's a nightmare. Last night I found Omar sleeping diagonally in his cot & his face was against the cot pumper. I was freaked out, & carried him to my bed! DH wants us to co-sleep as we dont really get a good night sleep frm worrying & keeping checking on him

The thought of it terrifies me.. I know it's hard to miscarry, or have a still birth.. but i've been with my LO 24.7 for the past 3 months.. it must be so hard if it happens =(

You can get bumpers which are 'breathable' - we bought one (recommended on here, after bumper dilemma). They are called 'air wrap'

Wow! These look great, think I may be investing in one of these. I was forever plucking my son's legs and arms out from in between the bars, and finding him with his nose squashed on the sides!

Thanks.. x

I read that the risk goes down starting from 4 months on. It's so scary... I know two mothers who recentlly lost their 3 and 4 month old boys to SIDS.

To the OP, re: SADS - I think that refers to Seasonal Affective Disorder...

There is also Sudden Adult Death Syndrome - where an adult dies of unexplained causes in their sleep. One of my best friends found her step mum dead in her bed one morning (she was 9 at the time) and the death was put down to SADS.

I have read that the risk is highest between 2-4 months, starts going down, then drops drastically at a year.
It's my worst fear, but other than taking the recommended precautions, I don't think there is anything you can do.

xx
