Help me I'm going to cry!!!

LO (5 1/2 months) will NOT sleep unless she's nursing!!! She'll nurse for 30 mins, fall asleep in my arms, and as SOON as I put her down, she SCREAMS on top her of lungs.. and NOTHING will stop her crying unless she goes back on the boob. So I let her nurse, then try to put her down, she SCREAMS again.

This has been going on for near 2 weeks now. My guess is that she's teething but I'm GOING INSANE. Before this she has been such an excellent napper (2-3hours during the day) and sleeper (in bed by 8pm).

I have not had a break AT ALL for the last 2 weeks... it feels like she's a newborn all over again. She won't nap for more than 20mins during the day and stays awake for 4-5 hour stretches... She's also mobile now and needs constant entertainment so when she's up, I'm ON DUTY.

I try letting her cry it out and she just screams and screams for more than 30 mins... She's screaming on the top of her lungs right now... I'M DESPERATE and sooooooooooooo demoralized. HELP ME

P.S. ORAJEL DOES NOT WORK!!

She does NOT take pacifiers or bottles. She'll get offended if I put one in her mouth.

Yes, since she turned 5 months old. But her fussing started before solids.. so I ruled out any adverse reactions from the foods. She's only been eating rice cereal and carrots (also peas, but only once and I've stopped since she didn't like it).

poor mama!! it is SO HARD but you are doing a great job! remember that she's only going to be a baby for such a short amount of time and it is clear she needs you because she is so uncomfortable! is there anyone that can give you a break every day for a small amount of time? maybe so you can get a nap in? sleep deprivation makes everything seem so much worse. (that has been the hardest part for me) as far as her teething goes, have you thought about an amber necklace for her to wear? letting her cry and cry is just going to make her cry more as it is VERY VERY stressful for such a small being to feel like she's getting no help. i understand that it is stressful for you too! but IT WILL GET BETTER. this is just a season.

Really sorry to hear you are having a tough time!! xx

Have you tried controlled crying rather than letting her cry it out for 30 minutes. Maybe try leaving her for 10 minutes then go in calm her down (try not to pick her up) and then go away for 15 minutes, go in calm her down and so on?

xx
