I can't help because I'm in much of the same situation. I don't mind it though as Emma has always been a 'boobie' napper. But I wanted to give you massive hugs!

CIO nor CC are advisable for babies under 6 months so dont bother with either, it wont help if shes crying due to teething pain anyway, you wouldnt go to sleep easily when in pain either.
If it is teething pain then an amber necklace would be a great start. Seeing if she will take a teething toy thats been chilled instead of just the breast, that may well help numb the pain in her gums she she can get to sleep and stay asleep a little longer.
I would also probably consult with your GP about the possibility of pain relief for her.
Another idea could be co-sleeping until this phase settles. If she wants to nurse a lot and cries when put down it may solve your problem to practise some safe co-sleeping so she can nurse to sleep and stay right next to you all night. It would mean you can get some sleep even if she stays latches on all night.

Are you sure it's teething issue and nothing else? may sound silly but we sometimes focus on one thing and forget to check others...has your LO beeing peeing/pooping/eating OK?? Is she on the boob just to fall asleep or does she get enuf to eat???

If it is the teething issue, my doctor suggested one 'remedy' for my LO, who's not yet teething so not sure if it works.

Take a clean cloth, dampen it and then freeze it - Give it to ur LO to chew on for a while, the ice cold cloth will sort of numb down the pain and she wont be as cranky!!

again, I personally have not tried but was something recommanded by the pediatrician

GOOD LUCK..hope it gets better for u

Have you tried controlled crying rather than letting her cry it out for 30 minutes. Maybe try leaving her for 10 minutes then go in calm her down (try not to pick her up) and then go away for 15 minutes, go in calm her down and so on?

xx
Yes, I have... she actually screams louder when she sees me.

You are so right! I tried something I haven't done in 2 months.... SWADDLING!!!! It seems to be the answer!!!!!

I noticed that everytime I put her down, the motion wakes her up ...before her teething pain, she would settle herself and goes back to sleep... but the last few weeks, she gets put down and starts rubbing her eyes like crazy and chewing on her hands... so she's fully woken herself up.

I just decided to swaddle her arms really tight today and she napped!!! once for 1hr and half, and another for 45mins.

And guess what? It's 8pm and she's SLEEPING!! No struggle, I'm soooooo glad She'll wake up within the hour to nurse a few times, but that's normal.

Next time someone posts about a screaming baby who won't sleep, the first thing I'm going to recommend is swaddling, even if the baby is past 3 months old.

If shes teething, maybe get her to chew on a frozen teething ring, juice box or something similar! The cold hard things numb things a bit and let her work the teeth through the gums.

My only other ideas is that it may be reflux/colic related. Maybe try putting her down in a tilted position/sitting up a bit... more similar to your feeding position?

I'm sure you're doing a great job! It'll get better!!!

EDIT* Sorry... missed the last few entries- Great that the swaddling is working for you! Well Done!
