i think if i were at a party id change her in the loo but purely so i dont inconvienience everyone else or gas them with the smell! lol

thinking about it tho, we wouldnt sit on a loo in the living room would we?! so why should they have to get there bits out in public! lol

I generally change anywhere but ive only been in the situation where im at a friends/relatives or in a baby changing room!

Your MIL is a bit weird for acting that way, id have told her to bugger off = 0 ) lol

Yeah actually in a party situation I'd go out just so as not to force poop smell on everyone! I did pop inot school where I teach last week and did change LO in the staffroom in the corner once everyone has left so it's def. dependant on the situation for me, but usually I'd just do it. I guess I'm usually around other mommies or family too which I think makes a difference.
It sounds like a really embarrasing situation though, horrible mil.

this is abit o.t but it really concerns me when mams are concerned about their OH changing their own little girls!? it's their child, they made her... it just makes me think, no wonder people think the way they do nowadays about adults around children, all the checks, no photo takin.. it's mental..

I clearly I have no manners. I not only would change Dylan in the living room, I may even ask if they minded if I let him have a kick with his nappy off if he was getting cranky.

I couldn't imagine not feeling comfortable with my OH changing our LO. Its like saying you don't trust them with their old child surely...

I was like this at first, would take her elsewhere to be changed, but now i just do it anywhere. Though at something like a party i would change her somewhere private. For other people as well, as they might not want to sit on the sofa after a baby has been changed on it! Lol.

Tell your MIL to shut up and you can change YOUR baby where ever you like!! xx

The only place I really don't like changing LO is in toilets where there are no changing faciliteis because I don't like putting her on the floor, even though we have a changing mat there is something I find unhygenic about putting her down on a toilet floor, so I have to try and balance her on my lap which is not easy! In a party situation I would take her somewhere out of the way as I don't think it is very nice for other people to have to smell her poo.
