In the UK we get a red book and at the back of it there is a chart where baby's weight height and head circumference are plotted. There are girl ones and boy ones though i'm not clear what the difference is. I'm sure you could find something like it online if you wanted.

So he seems average for 8wks - I'm going to measure him when he wakes up to see if he's grown! He had trouble eating for the first couple weeks so I think I'm paranoid!
Plus everyone and I mean EVERYONE keeps telling me how their baby was a few pounds more/less at birth than Ethan is now and when I say he's 3mo they say reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally, he's so tiny

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH

Rebecca was 8lb at birth and at 8 weeks was 9lb 11oz (she was in hospital for 2 weeks with bronchiolitis and reduced feeding which slowed her growth).

She is 55cm long.

Ella was 8lb 1.5oz at birth, not sure of length.

At 6 weeks she was 57.5cm. I had her weighed last week when she was 8 weeks old and she was 11lb 5oz. My girls were all a very similar length at their 6 week checks, my son was 62cm at his 6 week check.

I wouldnt worry about it too much - your lo was born 4 weeks early - that makes a huge difference & all babies grow at different rates & they all have growth spurts at different times.

I actually had an elderly woman argue with me in the grocery store when she saw my baby and said "is she about 2-3 weeks?" I said no she's 7 weeks. The woman didnt believe me (like I would lie about how old my baby is?! LOL) She said "are you sure?"
