Ohhhhhhhhh, I've ranted about them before...I'm just going to start saying outrageous things when I next hear the competitive parent. Something like 'oh yes, DD has just written a violin concerto and requested souffle for supper'. I think it's such an unattractive quality, bragging. One thing being a proud parent - that's lovely, but bragging/competition is just hideous!!

Also random people I don't know want to ask you personal questions since you have a baby like - do you breastfed. What a personal question!!! A checkout assistant asked me this last week in front of a queue of people.
Sooooooooo true! It's like your bodily functions have become public property! I've even been asked about pelvic floor in public. I nearly floored the person asking (pun intended, lol!)

I know!!!!! and people who think because you have a new baby they have to fill you in on their birth story 25 years ago and about their family history even when you don't know them and you have only popped into the shop for a loaf of bread!!!

Yes!!! Some woman I know to say 'hi' to - nothing more - told me about her harrowing birth story with her youngest (everything from how much blood she lost, to her nearly losing her life) five days before my induction. Why?! WHY!?!?

We dropped friends who had a little boy the same age as DS2, actually we met in hospital! Given that DS2 was 7 weeks early and at 8 months had been diagnosed with brain damage and we were told he may never walk, it was not very nice of them to constantly ask every day on the phone 'is he walking yet? because our son is! oh our son has been sitting/playing cello for months now! is your son not doing that yet? oh right. Our son has been.... ' ect ect...

Drove me mad!

agree - it's the 'I'm alright Jack' way of thinking...no care for other people. I just don't know how people operate like that!

Cant agree more!! I dont mind hearing proud parents saying that their LO is now crawling/walking etc, but when people ask if your LO is crawing e.g. then when you say "No" and they ask the age of your LO and then say "oh, well my kid was walking by that age", that REALLY gets on my t*ts, not exactly helpful is it?!?
Also dont like the lack of space in shops to push a pram around, Accessorize is a pain in the backside, Claires too.

Being told 'it will get better' when you've had 3 hours sleep in the last 24 hours in increments of 20-30 minutes at a time and you're holding a screaming, cranky, hungry and over-tired baby who is only sleeping 15-30 minutes more than you at a stretch and he can't decide if he's hungrier than he is tired or not so just wants to be on the boob even when asleep!

For some reason, EVERYONE feels the need to ask if we had Mika circumcised! Then when I say we didn't, they typically start in on why we should have.

A couple days ago I was changing him at the store and some lady walked in, looked and said to me "oh, your son isn't circumcised? that's a bad idea" WTF woman, why are you looking at my son's dangly bits anyway?
