my OH did lots of lovely things for me yesterday but i've been saying for weeks that all i wanted was a mug thats says mummy on it as he already as one with daddy on. I know its really silly but i was really upset when he gave me a cheapo photo album (with no pics in it!) instead. I have been banging on about this mug for weeks!!!! seriously - they're only a couple of pounds from the supermarket.

i know i'm lucky that OH bothered at all but i just wish he'd listen and also realise when i'm upset. he didn't realise at all that i was gutted.

i want my mug!!!! i think i'll have to get it myself now....

Yes you have every right to be upset. I tell you if my other half doesn't get me a pressie, flowers or lovely chocs for my first mother's day next year he will know about it. I will be hinting well in advance! I think next time you should say to your baby when other half is in hearing distance "what have you and daddy got planned for mummy on her special day next week?" or something similar.

Aw hun i can sypathise. My OH got me a card from connah but nothing else. I mean,im greatfull for it,i really am but i though he was going to make an effort since it was my first one

sometimes men dont realise how much it means to us. With my OH,i doesnt mean much to give cards and gifts on mother/fathers day etc but to me it does and when you have everyone asking 'what did you get for mothers day?' i was a little dissapointed to only be able to say...'a card'

It's funny, my OH is so rubbish at these things that I was over the moon to get a card with my tea and toast in bed! He'd signed it from Helen in little wobbly writing and I have to say it brought a wee tear to my eye!

TBH I don't really believe in mothers day, my mum doesn't either. When Helen is older I would love a home made card but I don't really expect a big fuss. I would have been sad to spend any Sunday all by myself though, I really value our family time and love having company at weekends.
