How was your mother's day?

Has anybody else had a disappointing mother's day?

I feel so ungrateful and mean, but I'm really upset about how unspecial today was. I've been really struggling with being a mum and my husband knows that, so I thought we'd have a nice day, maybe I'd get some flowers or something and I knew my sisters had been talking to my OH about it. I did get a nice card, but OH said he'd had no time to get chocolates and that was it. Then this evening, we had to go round to OH's parents' house to a dinner for his mum, which wasn't exactly what I wanted to be doing on my first mother's day.

I know I'm lucky to get a card, but I can't help thinking how mother's day was when I was at home with my mum and sisters - we'd spend ages picking out a special present and cards and get her flowers and chocolates, then breakfast in bed and a family day together. I know it's not about presents but I guess I just miss being at home with my family and I thought maybe we would do something similar with my new little family. Sorry to be so whiny, I just needed to vent and I'd rather do it on here than to my OH cos he'd be upset.

i spent my mothersday with my very hungover hubbie who didnt lift a finger all day (not that i expected much but you know for my first mothersday i had ideas along the lines of breakie in bed or something) i got up at 6 with ryan as there was no chance of him getting up with the baby. then when i asked he said "ryan" must have forgoten it was mothersday! i did get a card and im gratefull but still i just thaught it would have been a bit more "special".
i kno how you feel hun, men are just useless

theres always next year

Got a card and some chocs we couldn't afford! Had my mum over for lunch, OH made the main course and I made the dessert. Then we had an argument. Wasn't as special as I'd hoped, but hey ho.

Got a Moonpig card... woop de doop. was kinda hoping to be made to feel a bit special but no, just spent the day at mums and grand mums wishing them a good day...

Same here... no card, nothing - until 3.30pm when mil asked hubbie what had 'Isobelle' got for me?
Then a very sheepish hubbie dashed out to get things. The only flowers left were the most expensive so serves him right lol.

I wasnt bothered, I had a lovely quiet morning in bed with Isobelle and recently she's started making 'mo mo mom' noises so I spent the day smiling anyway

Its not nice when youre made to feel like this but Im used to it.

Most of it was great apart from when OH decided he was going to have a trantrum so me and Madison went off to bed for a couple of hours. When we got up, he decided to apologise so we carried on with the rest of the day, took lots of pictures and had a little picnic style tea.

I got some lovely presents from my little princess....

Nope, mine wasn't much to write home about either. I was up at 5am feeding Charlie and then DH said that he was tired and needed to catch up on some sleep so went back to bed until 10am! I got a card (no flowers though ) but it just would have been nice to have been able to lounge in bed for once as I haven't stayed in bed past about 5am since LO was born! Still, at least DH got some sleep(!).

I cleaned the house and then we had a roast dinner. That was it really.

Roll on next year......

Just remember to do something really special for fathers day and then they will feel guilty about it and will do something extra nice next year (we can hope).

I was lucky to even get a card - my OH had bought one for his mum and got her a present. At least he remember heard. Then I causally hinted about it being my first mothers day a couple of days before and that I hoped "jack would remember". He was then like "oh S**T* and then got a card!

My OH is usually rubbish with things like that though. I have to send him a list of birthday or xmas pressies I want or I would end up with something horrific! lol
