We've had another car crash

I'm so upset, it was so much like the last one and it's brought back all the memories of losing Elisabeth.

We were taking Joseph to the local wildlife park, it's only about half an hour away from our house and we thought it would be nice to spend the morning there, go to the babies garden with flowers for Ally and Elisabeth and then go for a late lunch.

We were just waiting to turn right into the road that leads to the entrance to the park and a man in a big 4x4 type thing came speeding around the corner and hit us.

The driver admitted he had been speeding and said "but only because I drive down this road every day and nobody ever turns right into that road, I wasn't expecting you to be there."

We had to go to the doctors to get checked over, there's a walk-in clinic nearby that was a lot quicker than waiting in casualty.

Joseph is fine, Andrew and I have whiplash and aches and pains, but I'm so upset. Mothers day has been emotional ever since we first lost Ally and we were determined to make this one happy. We always take them flowers but it's the wrong way around if you see what I mean, they should be here and picking flowers from the garden for me. They were very much on my mind today before the accident and when it happened I just couldn't think that Joseph would be okay.

We lost Elisabeth after a lorry hit our car while we were waiting at a red traffic light. He drove into the back of the car and we never saw him coming, very much like today.

I can't believe that we have been so unlucky as to have an almost identical accident again and with Joseph in the car. His car seat kept him safe though, he has a Maxi Cosi Tobi seat which we will be replacing now but I can't praise it enough now. We liked it before because it was easy to get him in and out of, kept him comfortable and looked nice but now we have proof it does the job it's supposed to do too (although we could have done without finding out first-hand).

It has still been lovely to have one of my babies here with me on Mothers Day but this has been another unwelcome reminder of what we have lost with the other two and in such a pointless, wasteful way. I'm just so grateful that Joseph wasn't harmed.

I was hoping for an early night but I don't think I can sleep unless I get this out so it's not just running through my mind.

Oh thats awful, how reckless of him, I would have been so angry too.
Just so lucky everyone was ok, I have that same car seat, I am glad I got a good one.

If you don't mind me asking, how old was your Elizabeth when you had the accident?

What a horrible day for you...

It must be so hard for you on days like today thinking of your gorgeous angels..

I'm sure your future Mother's Days with your beautiful Joseph will get easier. He will always look after you on behalf of all three of your children!

Glad you're all ok.

Lisa I don't mind, I was pregnant with her at the time of that crash and felt ill and had lower back pain but they kept telling me it was whiplash and not labour. I started bleeding and they found out that I had an infected placenta. I went into premature labour not long after. She was born at 22+3 into the pregnancy and she died at 2 hours old.
