my close friend tried a placenta pill, i thought it was a fine but she also tried my breast milk (from a cup) maybe i just have strange friends lol

Did you research it alot before you decided to do this? I'm not sure if thats a silly question, but just wondered about it, as I don't even remember talk of the placenta when Joe was born, but he was born by c-section.

i did SOOO much research into it. diff cultural ways of preparing it, i went through the options of burying it in the woods, planting a tree, eating it (as in with chips and gravy) encapsulating and making prints out of it. i chose encapsulating (eating some just to see what it was llike) and making prints. Alot of women that have had babies have never even seen a placenta. they are very beautiful tree like organs that kept your baby safe. im not sure what happens in the case of c section although im fairly sure if you ask they have to give it too you. I always knew i wanted to do something with it, it just took me 10months to feel emotionally able. and iam glad i waited as it did bring back lots of memories. i did however feel totally at peace with my birth after i had done it.

Same questions as everyone else plus was it difficult to eat it? Sort of did you find yourself thinking I can't do this or anything?
when i first opend the bags and there was SO much blood i was like what the fuck am i doing. there was a few moments when i was cutting it up that made me feel a little sad. the whole thing was very emotional and spiritual.

BUT are there any medical implications to this? Is it dangerous at all - for example, not cooking correctly etc. I imagine it carries some risk?

only the same risk as cooking any other meat.
