At what stage of your pregnancy did you decide you wanted to eat the placenta?

Did you have a home birth? And if not, where was the placenta kept until you could get it home and into the freezer?

I've found this fascinating. I'm impressed with how much thought, care and effort you put into this. My placenta was never mentioned again probably since I had a c-section.

Just wanted to say I thought the prints were beautiful and a lovely idea. They are very special.

Just wanted to say go you for doing this I wanted to keep my placenta/possibly encapsulate it/eat it/do something with it but after a rough time after birth I completely forgot all about my placenta (and apparently after going 12 days over (I suspect more than that) it wasn't in great condition according to my Mum who saw it)

Also, saw your placenta painting pics on fb and they're lovely

was convinced i'd read this and think you were totally barking but instead you've made me think that I should have more of an open mind when I come to number 2. Consuming the placenta may not be for me but I can understand now why people do it.

I didn't even think to look at my placenta when Niall was born I caught a glimpse and turned away I am amazed that you could see where your LO had been snuggled in and the emotional aspect of just discarding the organ which has kept LO alive for 9 months never really occured to me.

Thank you for sharing your story and your pics - I think you're fab

xxx

I had a good look at my placenta as I was fascinated to know what had been keeping my son alive inside me, I thought it was amazing to see but I admire you for eating it - looked like liver which I hate!!
