Don't tempt me!

Actually she panicked ever so slightly (turned her head to look side to side a few times) and it was only because she was in the sling and i cuddled and hummed that it was ok I think. But she went spark out in no time at all.

It did make me think... I'm going to put her bed in the cot during the day, because I have black out blind ready in the nursery... I wanted to be all relaxed and wait for the sleep to come to us, but the poor wee thing isn't able to give in to sleep during the day just at the minute
Molly's having the same issues, except at night. Not sure what's up tbh, growth spurt or teething... she's in a bit of a state most evenings Mei Tai usually works but can't be wandering round at 3am...

I'd try this but our downstairs bathroom is freezing!

I want your downstairs loo! Haha.

As i write this i am in the bedroom and Toby is fast asleep in his co-sleeper next to me. It's the first time he has ever napped upstairs during the day but i just had to try it because nothing else downstairs was working, and although i like to be fairly laid-back about most things, his lack of sleep during the day was becoming a real problem, he would be knackered and cranky by 5pm and wanting to go to bed, which has really sucked because OH is back on days so leaves before we're up and only gets in at 4.30, also by being asleep by 6pm it has meant him waking earlier for a feed in the evening so i've been missing out on time with OH and/or sleep.

Anyway it took me about 40 minutes to help him drift off. I fed him lying down, then transferred him into co-sleeper, then tucked his hands in so he couldn't repeatedly hit himself in the face, then put his dummy in then sat next to him "shhh" ing, then replaced dummy when he spat it out etc...but all without any tears and eventually he just dozed off and a few seconds later out came the dummy but he's stayed asleep and it's been 30 minutes now and he's not even stirred

Yes - I'm off to get me a mei tai - easier to put H down than when she goes off in the ring-sling.

Rebaby - Yup, I tried being laid back too - but we're all shattered

He slept for an hour and a half and woke up a real happy chappy, all smiles and gurgles in time for Daddy to get home

He still wanted to go to bed at 6pm though

Oh well, as long as he's well rested i guess that's the main thing. One thing i have realised is that becoming a mummy makes you completely obsessed about sleep and poo

Totally! I have to stop myself from completely boring my childless friends to death talking about Thomas's fascinating sleep habits!

At least the clocks are going forward soon so you should be able to keep him up till 7!

I have NO other topic of conversation apart from Abigail's sleep at the moment.... I think my friends who don't have kids are going to start making excuses not to see me pretty soon!
