temper tantrums?

when does temper tantrums start?

thomas was happily banging on a glass cabinet with the remote. i told him off, he immediately stopped then started crying, but not with tears. i ignored him and he stopped after about 30 secs.
is this a tantrum? is it normal behaviour for 10 months?

That's normal behaviour! My daughter started having tantrums before she was 1.

I don't think it's really a tantrum...just more being upset you told him no. To me a tantrum is when they throw a fit, screaming, crying, throwing thing, throwing themselves on the floor for the purpose of trying to get their way.

Sounds normal for his age though. I found the best way to deal with that stuff was just to distract them, tell him he can't play with it but let's go do this instead and get his attention on to something else

usually 2 years old (or just before) and last until 3 years
