Pain in breast when not BFing?

I wasn't sure where to put this.

I stopped BFing almost 2 weeks ago. My left boob is now completely dried up so no problems there. My right however is still lumpy, hard, leaking and painful.

It feels like it's really hot/burning inside, and when it leaks I get a sharp stabbing pain through my boob and in my nipple as the milk leaks out.

Anyone any idea? xx

could it be mastitis? i remember when i was exclusivly breast feeding and i use to get this in one boob and it was really hard and hurt so bad and midwife thought it could be mastitis? she said that one way to relieve it was to make LO breast feed lyin in a different position but obv if ur not breastfeeding u cant if it gets really bad id go to the gp esp it u get a temp! but having a really hot bath or shower and gently massage ur boob where its hard and when u get out it may feel better good luck xx

get yourself to Dr hun, at the mo if you arent feeling unwell its probably not full blown mastitis but it could probably go that way which is not nice.

Yeah or it could be a blocked duct - which can lead to mastitis so you need to be careful - I think you could maybe try pumping or hand expressing just a little bit off to clear it out - do you know how to hand express a few drops off? with your finger and thumb in a C shape? Do it from a couple of angles to clear out the lumps - not enough to keep your milk flowing but enough to make yourself comfy again. If you feel at all feverish and unwell though get yourself to docs for antibiotics - but also try and get a bit more milk off to clear your ducts - even if mastitis it is still best to run some milk through iykwim xxx
