Yeah my LO was much the same as that - he liked the lights, the window, the blinds. That was about it, he didn't even really look at people much until he was a bit older. Started to enjoy his playmat a bit more (looking at toys) at maybe two and a half months but didn't start batting at toys really until three months I don't think.

Megan started reaching for and batting at her toys at 4 weeks but only if she was on the floor. This seemed really early though for her to be doing that! At 3 months she still is reaching for and batting at her toys but has no interest yet in holding them. She only wants to hold a blankie or burp rag or her own clothes. She will hold onto a ring if I put it in her hand - but she could care less that its there. She also has no interest in toys if she is upright or being held- there is too much else to look at that seems more fun than toys for her.

From 6 weeks Adam was looking at and *just* trying to bat the toys that dangled from his bouncing chair, by 10 weeks he was definitely playing with them. He wasn't interested in things he could hold till about 18 weeks +.
