Baby monitor help please! I am clueless!!

Hi Ladies,

I am in the market for a monitor so that my LO can go to sleep in our room (where she is most comfortable) while we are downstairs in the evenings!
I am not bothered about video or anything, maybe interested in the sensor pad thingys but, mainly just want to be able to hear her if she starts moaning!!
Which monitors do you lovely ladies have and would you recommend them??

Thank you in advance for any replies!!

Sarah xx

We have the Tommee Tippee movement sensor one. Think it was about £50 and it has the pad, night light, clear sound, sound seek button for the quieter noises, takes batteries and can be plugged in. Sorted!

Buying the Angelcare monitor was one of the things we spent our money on and I wouldn't change for the world. I was against it at first, till I saw a post from a mum who had lost her baby to cot death. You can switch the ticker on or off and you can put it to an open mic setting where you can listen in, or have it as normal, relaying sudden sounds like the baby crying.

Knowing the sensor mat is there is really good if you are the sort of mum who would poke the baby to see if they are ok if they've been sleeping for longer than usual, waking them in the process!!!

Ha ha ha ha!! Oh my god, that is so me!! The first time Phoebe slept for longer than her usual 3 hours I woke my OH up to ask him if he knew why she wasn't awake yet and then poked her to see if she was ok, waking her up in the process!!! Ha ha ha!! Might have a look at the Angelcare then! Thank you!!

xx

I have the angelcare monitor to. It was given to me by my step-mum coz she didn't need it anymore. I've not bothered using the sensor pad..My dad said it goes off all the time and is a bit useless. I love the digital thermometer on it though because my bedrooms pretty cool so I know when I need to put the heater on especially at this time of year.

I have the BT150 which I just love. It is crystal clear and the sensitivity is so good that it can practically pick up the hairs moving on his head!!! Ha Ha.

I got a video monitor, but since H has wanted to sleep on her front we got the angelcare one with sensor pad instead.

I call it the 'paranoia pad' - but because they so strongly advise not letting them sleep on their front, I knew I wouldn't forgive myself, or stop worrying, or get any sleep until I could put her on her front and keep an ear/eye in the night.
