My LO is 5 months old. On sunday he started screaming like he was in pain a really horrilbe cry, it made me want to cry too!!

Next thing his legs started to go blue in places an where it wasn't blue it was bright pink and inflamed. I thought it was just coz he was over tired, we'd had a busy day, so i took him out in the car an he settled an went to sleep, when we got back he woke up had his bottle and within half an hour it happened again only worse, his legs did this and his face was white, even thou he was so upset, norm he would have a red face. So my step mum called nhs direct an they said take him to hosp, so we did he stayed in over night an the consulant said oh this happens very often??? if it happens again they said dont bother comin to hosp just take him to his gp asap???

Have you exprienced this?

Also this happened in december too an we went to hosp the said he had a virus, he hasn't done anything different or eaten anything different, or been ill. the only thing is he got his 1st tooth the week before, could it be part of teething???

I've never experienced anything like that. Did the consultant say what he thought it was, if it supposedly happens so often? I wouldn't be totally happy with that answer I don't think, I would want a lot more information about what exactly was happening and why.

I think i'd take him to hosp again if it happened again - i feel you've been fobbed off and it isn't good enough.

She didn't say how often, i took a pic when it happened and showed her, they monitored him all night an his pulse temp an oxygen in his blood were all ok, but they will be if he is fine? A&E wanted to do scans of veins an blood tests, then senior doc said maybe chest xrays then consultant said it was normal. Step mum is concerned coz there is lots of heart problems in oh's family although oh dont have any yet.

Since then he has been his usual self smiling an laughing i just dont know what to think. Some one said it could be ashtma? He has excema apparently the 2 are related? But i have read on net that is unusal for doc to diagonise it so early.
