Brilliant thanks Foogirl, perfect answer Yeah she does usually only manage 1-1.5 hours awake so it would be pretty hard to get anything done out the house lol

I feel a bit of a bad mother that H wasn't napping much before the last couple of weeks

But she started showing signs of being tired, so I had to do something.

Last night I took her up to bed earlier and she didn't bat an eyelid. 7.30pm - 7am (feed at 2am) I think it's stranger for me then it is for her.

She napped for 2 hours this morning, and has been down for almost an hour now.

I miss her!

well i finally purchased sleepsense, was reading through and then read that it says lo has to be at least 13lb before you start - she was 12lb 7oz last week - she really is a plodder when it comes to weight gain but otherwise she is healthy

do you think i could still continue? i am not expecting her to sleep through the night but just a bit longer that usual - i would still expect her to wake for feeds

im so gutted, was getting really exited about starting

That's brilliant news! Sounds like she is just ready to sleep more herself and you just read her signs correctly!! Makes you a good mum in my humble opinion! Well done Hazel!

thats amazing! I'm so happy for you. I'm so excited! napping during the day is a nightmare for us, he is difficult to get to sleep and then he only sleeps on someone, but at night he is much better ?!?! i think i've got him into bad habits

My understanding is that they have to be at least 13 pounds before they are able to physically go a full 12 hours without a feed. I think it would be perfectly fine to start once you're not expecting her to go fully through the night. After all, you can use the programme from birth - maybe have a look at the 0-3 month section too as she's still quite little weight wise. The first thing is working on self settling at bedtime and you can do that at any weight.

Thomas is only just over 13 pounds - 13 pound 1 oz at his last weigh in a week and a half ago.

I'd do it. Abby wasn't anywhere near that weight - I never even read that! I think that's maybe for them sleeping through the night? But you can still use the program and allow for night wakenings if you are still night feeding.

It does feel terrible to have them sleeping so much - especially during the day!

ok, some advice fellow Sleepsense-ees, please!

DD had a bit of trouble with her naps today...think we counted our chickens too early. Basically she slept fine for 25 mins (ish) but then woke up upset. As per programme, I tried to settle her for another 25, but it wasn't working. So we played etc. This happened for two of her three naps...she was getting so tired and grizzly, I let her nap on me.

Would you do this? Or persevere? Just worry that she has a miserable day of it - AND doesn't nap
