my oh dads partner nearly lost her baby


my OHs dads partner is 23 weeks pregnant and we had a text this morning that she is 5cm diliated . she has had to have emergancy surgery to put stichs in her cervix to stop baba coming just yet. they've kept her in to moitor her and the baba. i'm really worried for them and baba. she has problems with her ovaries they are both on one side. please everyone help me and keep ur fingers crossed also if theres any midwifes on here please honestly tell me will this poor baby be okay? Its goona be my Taras auntie/uncle . Thanks x

I hope everything goes ok honey. There is a thread in Gestational Complications section on Incompetent Cervix and people who have had stitches put in if that's any help xx

Thats awful hun. Keeping everything crossed for them both. Even if they could keep baby in there for another 7/8 weeks then it would give him/her more of a fighting chance. You know where I am if you need to chat hun, xxx

well shes ott of hospital today now she needs to keep well rested they want her to make it to 8 month if she can. the baby is fine for now & fighting strong hope fully i wnt have to mention this again . thanks girls x

I didnt dilate as early as she did but was 3cm+ from 27 weeks but didnt have any cervical stitches (something to do with effacement making it impossible) I made it all the way to 42+4!
