I'm at my wits end here

Zara has been sleeping through for weeks now (since 6 weeks old) and last week she was sleeping 10/11 hours.

She has had a UTI recently but we have got the all clear now after a course of antibiotics but she is still on a daily low dose until we can get scans and kidney tests done. Even when she had the UTI she was still sleeping 10/11 hours (screaming most of the day but at least I could cope as I knew what it was and she was sleeping all night).

She used to have a lovely temperment and be a happy playful baby but since the UTI she is so grumpy and miserable, she screamed all day long yesterday and has now started waking up at nights for a feed and it takes me 2 hours to get her back to sleep again.

I just want my happy baby back - if she is crying, I pick her up and she just screams even more - the only way to stop her is to put her down and walk out of the room for 5 minutes and then when I come back in the room she starts again It's almost like she hates me (and I know that isn't true but it feels like it )

When Daddy gets home she is laughing and giggling for him but she just seems to cry for me and it's heart breaking.

She is eating fine, doing plenty of wet nappies, one poo a day, hasn't got a raised temperature, isn't coughing or sneezing or being sick etc so I just don't know what is up with her. When she screams she literally goes insane and gets soaked with sweat within about 30 seconds

I just don't know what to do anymore - she isn't interested in me playing with her and I'm trying so hard to interact with her but she just doesn't seem to want me around (sounds silly I know but she seems happier if I just put her down and walk away )

Anyone any ideas? We thought teething but bonjela doesn't work, calpol doesn't work, amber necklace doesn't work, she won't take a teether etc

I really am struggling to think what is causing her to get so upset

She might be having a growth spurt, there is a huge one at about 3-4 months so maybe your LO is just a little early with hers.

Illness can unsettle a baby of course. If you just follow her cues and give her what she needs then she should settle down in time.

If she isn't interested in playing/toys (I don't think my LO actually played at all at that age) then have you got a bouncy chair or similar to sit her in and just watch you gettig on with stuff, some babies (like mine) prefer this to being held.

How is she when you go out? I know I found 3 months a hard age and I found going out for lots of walks seemed to be good for both of us!

Of course if you worry that something physical is wrong with her or you feel she is in pain, then no harm in getting her seen again by a Dr.

yes, a growth spurt. Omar had one 2 wks back. He wasnt crying, but was grumpy all day. It lasted for around 5 days, one day he just wanted his bottle & sleep, & the other day he just couldn't nap or sleep at night. He went back to his routine after the 5 days.

Their routine gets squashed so much in the first few months!!!!! It's very draining!!!! I have no advice just chin up! I'm sure she doesn't hate u x
