Whats the name of the app hun? I want it!!!! hehe, please

Me me me!! Totally obssessed!!

All I think about is sleep... day and night. Now I am suffering from early pg insomnia and I lay awake at night in those precious 2 hours between Otter's feeds and "daydream" about being able to sleep!!

Sleep fairy, PLEASE come vist Otter and me so I can have some sanity back!

Foogirl, I was just reading that SS page... can you sum up the basic idea of how it works in a few sentences? Not details, just general idea. Trying to decide if it is worth looking into!

Me me me!!!

I'm so obbsessed I ask everyone :-) I just don't want to be the only one! Chloe is a rubbish sleeper ( been up since 4.30 and randomly woke 4 times before that ).
Thing is I'm too tired to try and read any of these books about helping babies sleep, just couldn't get my head around it which is pretty stupid really.

I'm so obsessed I often sit thinking about this women who I read on the Internet that calls herself a 'Night Nanny'. She charges like £150 to do a night for you, get up, feed ect. I actually find myself wondering where I could get the money from!!! Dear god.....am I that desperate for a nights sleep I would consider robbing a bank for it.....lol!!

It is a sleep training method which gives you strategies for different ages of babies. As well as discussing the importance of sleep and the mistakes many new mums make, it teaches a good bedtime routine, culminating in putting the baby down drowsy but awake. From there, you calm and soothe the baby when they get too fussy, but move away when they calm down. You can stay in the room or you can leave - it's your choice.

The goal is to teach your child to sleep without "props" e.g feeding, dummy, rocking etc so that when they wake in the night, they can get themselves back to sleep, they don't need you.

It does involve an element of crying but it isn't CC or CIO. It discourages instantly picking up a crying child, and waiting a moment when they first wake crying, as often they will go back to sleep. (note: the method is slightly different for babies under 3 months, you can pick them up)

It also gives strategies for encouraging good naps.

With Abby, the first night she cried on and off for about an hour and 45 minutes, the second night was about an hour, 3rd was 20 minutes and then for about a fortnight she'd cry for about 5 minutes when we put her down (she was MUCH worse if we stayed in the room!) Now, she rarely makes a noise when she goes down, she is ready to go to sleep. If she wakes, unless she's in trouble, she goes back to sleep. But even those times she needs teething gel or winding etc, getting her back to sleep is a dawdle.

Foogirl... that sounds good.

I agree with the no/reduced 'props' theory... but H has always foiled our plans by falling to sleep winding

I was looking at feeding on waking, but haven't tried it yet.

That's what we do. She seems to feed better for it too. But also, with regular naps, she doesn't tend to fall asleep on our laps anymore.
