Can't blame the guy for not sleeping...but it was exhausting. Only a few hours of sleep for all of us. But as you said, the other night was the right direction. It seems every week or so he does give me a long stretch of sleep, that was the longest yet so maybe next week it will be a 7 hr one ?? 
Last night he was right back to his old tricks. Asleep at 630 pm, woke at 730, 1030, 230, 330, up at 630. And there was no self settling or even help settling on those wakings. 
He cried for at least 10 minutes each time before I finally gave in and fed him.
