First time swimming tips

I'm taking LO swimming for the first time this week and wanted all your top tips!

He'll be 6 1/2 months, and I've bought him a swim nappy and a wetsuit. What else will I need, and how long can I expect to have him in the water for his first time?

I stayed in the water nearly 1 hr today but my Lo has a little wet suit to keep her warm, they are fab.
she cried and cried when i 1st took her and it took me 20mins to ease her in the pool, i stood on the side to let her see whats going on as its alot to take in for them.

heyy, i took my Lo swimming for the first time at the weekend. hes 6 n 1/2 months. i just put a swim nappy on him and a little pair of trunks.lol he loved it.
just lasted an hour though think they get a bit cold or bored after a while

i took my little one today in her costume and swimming nappy, she loved it. Think we were in there about half hour

I take a towel or one of those hooded baby towels to the side of the pool with us so I can wrap Isla up warm as soon as we come out. I take a little ball or bath toy in with us too if the floats and things aren't out.
