HELP! Taking Lo to South Africa 14 hour flight! Any Tips?!

Hi Girls, hope you are all well, we are going back to SA to get married in two weeks and we are obviously taking Annabelle with us, we have a 14 hour flight to deal with

!! Do any of you have tips on how to keep LO calm?

Also as SA is sooooo hot how do I keep her comfy there? She is BF exc so do I need to give her water etc? She is also such a creature of habit and routine I am sooo worried this trip is going to throw that out and she will be an overtired little humbug?!

Tips from seasoned travellers pleeeeez!!!

I travelled to SA in December when my lo was 5 months old!
Yes its VERY hot there but i decided not to give my lo water..I think you can if you want to, I know my friend who lives there gave her lo water and my mom gave me and my brother water when we were babies.
For the flights - phone the airlines now and try to request a bassinet seat
What time are you flying? We flew nights there and back so it actually worked quite well
Some people recommend a pacifier or bottle for take-offf/landing for air pressure, i just gave boob and when he didnt have boob it didnt seem to bother him anyway.
Take a hat in case you have cold air blowing on her
I bf my baby so we didnt take any bottles or anything with us and felt it was fine for us and easier too.
Hmm any other questions? We flew to Johannesburg for 10 days then to Kimberly one day and drove 3 hours to see fil and drove back to Kimberly the same day and then flew to CapeTown for 2 weeks before heading back to JHB for 5 more days..was a loong month!
