Just like to say, as a single mother I HAVE to let Aiden sit and cry sometimes, otherwise I would get NOTHING done. It's different when you don't have someone else there to do things for you, no matter how big or small. I am well aware that many people's OH's are out at work most of the day but I don't get the luxury of someone coming home in the evening to sit with Aiden while I cook dinner, have a bath, hang up washing etc.

I'd love to put Aiden in a sling while I do the housework but when I'm bent over cleaning the bath and I'm spraying cleaner with bleach and other nasty chemicals all over the place, I can't have him in the room with me.

I hope people don't think that I'm out of order for letting Aiden have a little whinge whilst I try to get on with things because it would be impossible for me to live if I picked him up everytime he cried!

ETA - I'm aware as well that obviously things are different when you're dealing with a newborn baby and a 4 month old baby! When Aiden was very young I would pick him up everytime he cried.

You could try some natural cleaning products katie, I cant use chemical cleaners due to my chest problems (I have COPD) and use all natural products for cleaning that are completely safe for babies so you can keep them with you or at least in eyesight in a bouncer/chair or whatever. May be worth you looking into

That's a good idea!

I do have him in the hallway outside the door in his bouncer chair so I can see him and he can see me... however, he's going through a very clingy phase at the moment where if I'm not paying him constant attention then he gets very cross! It's quite funny because the minute I walk over to him and look at him, he stops crying and grins at me - it's dead cute but not ideal!

You're right as well - carrying baby around will not spoil them - the worst that will happen is that they grow up happy and content!
