We're gonna need a bigger chair!

I have been worried for a while that Earl is going to get too big for his chair soon. I took this picture today and I think this illustrates it perfectly....he looks so fed up and he's just grown sooooo much!

I think I need to go shopping! lol

Picture 1 - His first time in his chair at 2 and a bit weeks
Picture 2 - Today 15weeks 5days

He's not even fat! He's gonna be a big lad when he's older. x

Aww bless! Archie grew out of his and had to be moved to a Bumbo! He was about the same age as your LO!

Can I just warn you about what happened to Archie the last time we put him in his! He leaned forward and the whole thing toppled over and he landed on his face!!! He was shocked but fine but this was the deciding factor that he was too big for his! Don't want to scare you but thought you might like to know.

xx

Earl has already teetered but I caught him thank god. I don't leave him in it alone even for a split second now as I know he can do it, which doesn't leave me with many options at the moment lol. I have a Bumbo but it's a squeeze to get his legs through the chunky monkey. I'm off shopping tomorrow to try to get a walker/chair/jumperoo to directly swap with it, and I'm eyeing up a few things to order online as well as I've got to basically start from scratch of the seating for him.

Thanks for the warning though....I really didn't expect him to be able to do it at his age but I suppose with his size and weight (about 18lb), his strength etc must make him more capable.

Thats such a good pic - he looks well peeved! heehee. He is a big boy - but really long not overweight. Dont get a bumbo - my 2nd son was a big boy and his legs were turning blue when i put him in it coz they were so chunky and he was only 3 months old!

I'd highly recommend the Fisher Price Sensory Selections bouncer, if you wanted to stick with a bouncer I bought mine on here, but they do still sell them. Here's a link:

Because the legs bend the opposite way to normal, it seems a lot mor stable, they can't tip it forward. We tried my friend's LO in it when he was about 8 months old, and while it sank a bit, it was totally fine. Romilly loves hers, we're hoping she'll be in it for ages, as we have the opposite problem to you, she's quite small!!

I got mine from Wobbles, you could maybe ask her what it was like for a bigger baby?

He's what my MW called 'solid' lol. He was predicted to be about 8.5lb by his size etc, and he was 9.5lb. Even now if I take him to get weighed the HV will guess a weight and it's always way below what he actually is. I swear he hides some weights somewhere! lol And yeah he's really long too in size 6-9 clothes and they're starting to get to the 'buy the next size up now' stage.

Re: the bumbo.....gosh I'll have to watch. I struggle to get his legs through sometimes but I never thought it would be solid enough to cut off circulation. Hopefully we'll find something to tide us over tomorrow so I can swap things over. At the moment the only thing he's truly comfy in is his door bouncer!
