Nice touch

This is totally random but I just felt the need to share it for some reason, lol. I got a phone call earlier on my way home and couldn't answer it in time so rang them straight back. It turned out to be the tongue tie nurse from the hospital doing follow-up phone calls for people who had baby's tongue tie cut when they were newborn. She'd made a note that I had been admitted at the time and asked what had happened so I explained about the womb infection and everything and she asked how long I was in for and was generally nice and friendly. Asked if feeding had improved after the snip and how breast feeding had gone and told her we were still at it and she was very impressed as "not many of you make it past 6months you know". And that was that. I just thought it was a nice touch from a hospital that I wasn't overly impressed with and from the usual useless and impersonal (IMO) NHS.

That IS nice! So many of us have bad things to say about hospitals (I certainly do about the hospital I gave birth in!) so thank you for reminding me that it's not all bad.

I got lucky and was admitted into an amazing hospital that is known world wide (Winnie Palmer/Arnold Palmer) and the staff was very personable and caring.

Glad they called and had some kind words for you. It makes all the difference.

That's nice, it's reassuring to know you're not just bundled off and that's that.

I've seen this talked about before, what is tongue tie, if you don't mind me asking?

It's where that bit of skin under your tongue (that holds it in place) is too long and the baby can't lift their tongue so find it difficult to latch.

Like this: http://www.themcmillans.ca/images/du...-09-11_023.JPG

Some people have difficulty with speech later on but others don't notice it.
