My 8 month old son has bedtime tantrums EVERY night

My son hates going to bed!!!!

He used to be really good went to bed at 9pm then up at 9:30am waking once for milk. For the past 2 months I put him to bed at 9 as usuall then hes wide awake by 9:30 standing up in his cot , playing. First I tried rocking him back to sleep but he just used to laugh at me Then I tried letting him cry but he would get estatic to the point I cant bare it no more and have to get him out of his cot. He then is usually up playing untill 12 - 12.30 AM.

He only has two 20 minute naps in the day as well he eats 3 meals a day, Sometimes he will have a hour and a half nap ONLY if I lay down with him.

I dont know what to do!!! Any advice or anyone had any similar experiences in this sittuatiohn???

Hmmmm, sounds like he is overtired to me?? 20 minutes nap isn't much for an 8 month old? My DD at that age was having a 30 min morning nap, 1-2 hours in the afternoon then another 30-45 min nap in the afternoon.

Sounds like he is waking to soon, have you tried putting him back to sleep when he initially wakes up?
[edited by admin - book mentioned is banned on BnB]

Also it sounds really daft, but we used to put the hairdryer/hoover on for DD and she was asleep in seconds of being in bed, white noise type thing?

Just a few ides anyway, hopefully someone else might be able to give you a few more tips!

Hope your LO sleeps soon!
