glad u said this! i will show this thread to my husband!!

When my husband has mikey on his own he lets him cry it out and i hate it. Many a time i have been in the bath whilst hubs looks after him and i end up getting out of the bath and run downstairs as i can hear my baby crying so much he sounds like he is choking. The minute i pick him up he shuts right up and starts smiling!

And hubs wonders why he cant sooth the baby!

exactly....imagine if you walked into a nursery and found 6 babies screaming their heads off being ignored by staff my son went to private nursery and they had babies from 3 weeks old....none were EVER left to cry for ANY length of time whatsoever, if they were crying they were picked up and soothed for as long as was required.

It might be an idea.

He's not an ogre for thinking it, but he is very wrong.
Babies don't have the cognative ability to cry for any reason but truely needing something. They've just gone from their whole existance being inside you having their every need automatically met... you'll find in a few weeks she'll give what I call yaps or barks to warn you she needs something before she'll actually cry.
