Gro bags

When did you start using them with LO?

Harry is now about 8 1/2 lb and nearly 3 weeks old and we have 2, 0-3month grobags which I want to start using if possible - as he goes down better in his moses basket when he is warm in his blanket after a feed.

Do you think we're ok to start using them?

I think my son was about 5 months when I started using them with him. He was born in june so I didn't know if he might be too warm? He used his until he was about 2, he had ones with a zip along the bottom and he would unto it, and toddle about in it hehe

My LO is due in july so I was thinking of buying some for when it starts to get cooler?

I started putting Zara in hers at about 6 weeks when she weighed about 10lbs - I tried her in it a couple of weeks earlier but it looked too big around the neck and shoulders and I was worried she could wriggle her way down inside it but by about 6 weeks I was much happier with the fit. Best way to decide is probably to try them in it and see whether you think they could wriggle down inside it or not. The mothercare one that I use has extra press studs at the side which make it a bit narrower so less room for her to wriggle down into if that makes sense

We put Freya in her gro-bag at around 3 weeks, once she was over 8lbs. The particular gro-bag we have said they were suitable for babies over 8lbs! The ones I have also have press studs under the arms so they fit nice and snug.

We have used ours from day one too..also have the Mcare ones that have the extra poppers so its a snug fit around head and shoulders. Mothercare also do a 0-3mth one which goes from 5lbs upwards then their 0-6mth is slightly bigger weight..we got both but as DS was 10lb at birth he went straight into the 0-6mths one ..x

We used them from about 6 weeks, once Joe was over the correct weight and we made sure his head couldn't slip down. I was abit worried at first, but we used them in the day first so we could pop in and check on him.
He loves his sleeping bags, he always kicked his blankets off so they're been fab!
