Thanks for the well wishes .

Just a quick update. I'll update properly when we're properly home, hopefully in next few days. I've popped home for the first time between feeds to get some more nappies and stuff.

The emergency doctors sent us to A&E, the A&E department transferred us in an ambulance to a children's assesment unit at another hospital and they admitted us to the ward. We have our own room. She had the symptoms I mentioned in the first post plus a high temperature and was very, very lethargic. They did lots of blood tests and put an antibiotic drip in her hand, her poor tiny little hand . They've done chest x rays and last night stuck a tube up her nose to suck the mucus out to analyse it to see if there is a respiratory problem and she cried and cried.. I can't bear to see all these things happening to my poor baby.

The most worrying thing is they were very concerned it was meningitis and did a lumbar puncture to take spinal fluid. That was HORRIBLE. I'd do anything for her not to have had to go through that. They said it was too traumatic to watch so they didn't want us to stay with her but her daddy insisted on staying so she wouldn't be by herself. I stayed in our room and I could hear her scream and scream. Her daddy said she pooed and vomited everywhere as she was so terrified. They have to hold her very still as it could be very dangerous if they do it in the wrong place and she's all bruised from being held so tightly. After her birth when she was so bruised and battered I promised her I wouldn't let anything hurt her again and she has been hurt again . I know it is necessary but it was heartbreaking to see her like that again. Her daddy was crying and crying, and he never usually cries, when we were back in our room after that.

The initial results for that look good thank god but they said it takes 48 hours of analysis until meningitis can be ruled out. They're hopeful it is not that but is some other virus. The drip is helping and the d & v has lessened, her temperature is normal and she isn't so lethargic. My baby girl is still so poorly though . They said if all the results are okay she may be able to go home in the next couple of days but even if they are okay they may still keep her in on the antibiotic drip until they are satisfied she's a lot better. We should get the final blood test and spinal tap results later today or tomorrow morning.

Please keep my beautiful Daisy in your thoughts, that she is okay, that the results will be okay. We love her so much and it is so hard seeing her like this.

Oh gosh you poor things! Poor Daisy for being so poorly and having to have those nasty tests and poor you Mummy and Daddy for having to stand by and allow those tests when all you want is for her to feel better. It must be heartbreaking for you!

I hope she gets better asap and gets to come home soon. xxx
