I used Tylenol if it got really bad -- normally the first few days. I used orajel through out the day and teething tablets (GOD SEND!). Other than that things for him to chew on. I took his bath rag and put an ice cube in it and tied a rubber band around it and would hold it for him while he chewed. Eli started really early too -- so he couldn't hold much on his own. Now he has two teeth! It does get easier.

The best things I found for Izzy are nelsons Powders and Anbesol. These usually help her enough to sleep, the odd time they have been really bad I have given her a spoon of paracetamol.

Camilia by a company called Boiron... I believe they may be a Canadian company so not sure if you can get it there... but it's fabulous. If all else fails, I use Infant Motrin- find it to be more effective than Infant Tylenol for pain relief

Anbesol teething liquid, not the gel. the gel comes off, the liquid doens't so much. It smells disgusting but the interesting taste takes their mind off the pain too. I've used it myself for wisdom teeth, and it works x

the ibuprofen works a bit better than calpol, as it reduces swelling. But you can use both when it gets really bad. We also use nelsons powders and he likes to chew on damp muslins. Tie the corner in a knot, Dip it in water, and pop it in the fridge for a while.
