Straining Baby...

Hi Girls

For the last week or so, LO's been straining terribly. After her 3am feed (she's BFing) she keeps herself and me awake straining for the rest of the night and probably til around midday the following day. She seems to be in real discomfort, goes bright red, thrashes around and makes almighty noises (doesn't cry with it though, except through tiredness). It never seems to result in poos or farts - these seem to come when she's just sitting/lying around, not straining. Her poos are about 4-5x daily and runny/yellowy so seem normal. I give her infacol and wind her really well after feeds.

Any advice as she seems in such discomfort and it's disturbing her sleep (and mine ) quite badly.

Thanks!
Els

I'm not sure but my baby has always made straining noises, sometimes going red, other people always think she's doing a poo but it's just something she does. She's never been constipated. Sorry no help!

Oscar does this too - tried infacol, now trying gripe water - then we'll go onto cow and gate comfort powder - then colief....

we're the same as you, a bit stumped really!

Hmmmm, a mystery then! If I get to the bottom of it or find a miracle solution, I'll let you all know!
