Head-banging when lying on my chest or in baby-sling

Does anybody else's baby head-bang when they lay baby on their chest or put them (facing chest) in a baby-sling? Our LO does this for about ten minutes before he settles down. It didn't used to bother us, but lately I've been wondering whether it's OK or whether it's something to ask HV or GP about. He doesn't seem to do it when he's laid on his back, so I'm not sure that it's to do with going to sleep or getting comfy.

Lola always did it when rooting. It was always the cue that she wanted to feed. She doesn't do much know really as I'm more in tune with her and when she wants to feed. But she's started doing it when she's restless and can't get herself comfy. She used to love being on my chest. But sometimes now when she's overtired she'll fidget and head bang... But it is at least working those neck muscles!
